The Vine Inn Davis, Davis

The hotel has made a huge improvement from the prior ownership as an Econolodge. The rooms are now fresh, clean, and tidy, offering a lovely stay, although there is a strong disinfectant smell present. The service, despite being a bit indifferent or preoccupied at times, was overall pleasant, especially considering being understaffed. The location is right in the center of town, making it walkable to everywhere we wanted to go but unfortunately showing signs of neglect in some areas. The dining experience could be enhanced, as it seems to be a common fare found in similar hotels, but the hotel is close to restaurants in Davis. The facilities are simple but adequate, lacking some creativity.

The rooms at this hotel, part of the sister motels, have undergone a significant improvement with fresh and clean accommodations, a much-needed upgrade from its previous ownership under Econolodge. While a table, even just a folding or hideaway one, is missing, the overall experience surpasses expectations.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms, while clean, were a little small and showing signs of wear with peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. The service was friendly but had a mix-up with my reservation that caused some confusion. The location, though convenient, left much to be desired due to the deteriorating condition of the rooms. The dining options were basic, and there was room for improvement to elevate the experience. Despite some drawbacks, the value for money was acceptable.
